a sense of place
My love for this area runs deep. Born and raised on the coast – with maternal roots that extend back to one of the First Families of Maine and paternal roots that reach all the way across the world to a small fishing village in South Korea – I have been coming to the Rangeley Lakes Region my whole life, to be with family and nature. As a young child, I learned to play in the forest and mountains, on the lakes, rivers and waterfalls, skiing Saddleback, snowshoeing across my aunt and uncle’s backyard, foraging for wild blueberries and spending many an unstructured summer chasing minnows and bullfrogs in the reeds of Haley Pond.
The woods and waters here have always felt like home to me, and it is a true joy to expand that feeling of belonging through The Rangeley Hideaway with all who live here, as well as those who are visiting the region for work, adventure and recreation.
Established in 2022, The Rangeley Hideaway is designed to welcome you into a space of warmth, light + kinship – with excellent coffee and waffles! Our highly reliable fiber connection (100 mbps up/down) and beautiful workspace means you can be focused and efficient in your remote work, freeing up more time to enjoy the outdoors. We are here as a resource when you’re looking to connect to the digital world, and as a resource when you’re looking to connect to the natural world.
And we’re just getting started! In the cooperative spirit of rural placemaking, we are always open to collaborations and partnerships. You’ll often find me, my husband Adam, and our two kids Ben and Luci, working at the café. Stop in, say hello, and let us know what brings you to Rangeley.
Hope to see you soon!
